Dimension styles
- So, the whole point of drafting is to show someone how to build the object and build it consistently and repeatedly. So to do this, the backbone of drafting really is dimensioning. There are many rules for drafting dimensions and while we're not going to get into proper dimensioning technique here, I do want to explain how to use the tools that AutoCAD for Mac provides, so that we can detail all the pieces of our drawings. So to start, we can find the Dimension panel, here, we can see all kinds of different tools that we have for dimensioning our part. So, I want to go ahead and start with what AutoCAD uses as dimension styles. This is how we control things like, the size of the text, arrowheads, offsets, and so on. To create our own style, I can either click on the icon here or I can go up to Format, and Dimension Style. Here, in the Dimension Style Manager, we can create our own style.
