Dimension overrides
- [Instructor] CAD managers everywhere will be quite upset with me for showing you this, but there are times when we need to change the dimensions, themselves, including the dimension text. When selecting the dimension, we can select aspects of that particular dimension using the Properties palette. These include the properties like arrows, offsets, and even the contents of the dimension, meaning the text itself. This can be potentially very dangerous. if we override the dimension text with another value, there is no indication to the user that this is no longer the true dimension. But there are times when this is necessary. Perhaps we need to replace the dimension text with a reference letter for a lookup table. Or perhaps we want to add text, like a description, to the dimension value. So to edit or to override your dimensions, I'm going to simply select it.
