- [Instructor] The copy tool works similarly to the move tool but obviously, it keeps the original objects intact. I'm going to select copy from tool set here and then select my object and press return. For the base point, I'm just going to click out here in space and then start to drag my cursor. I'll pick my second point out here and click. Now this on AutoCAD keeps me in the copy command and will do so until I press return or escape on my keyboard so I can continue to make copies until I press return. Another thing to note is when typing in relative or polar coordinates, the original base point remains the base point for the entirety of the command. So, let's say I want to copy this line segment over to the right two units and then again another two units. I'm going to get copy, select my object and press return. I'll select my base point and then start to drag and I'm going to type in @ two angle zero and press return. For my next copy, I want two units to the right but if I were…
