- [Announcer] The copy tool works similarly to the move tool, but obviously it keeps the original objects intact. I'm going to select the copy tool from the tool panel here and I can select my objects and then press return. For the base point, I'm just going to click out here in space and now I can start to drag and place the copies of my objects. AutoCAD will keep me in the copy command until I press return or escape on my keyboard. Another thing to note is when typing in relative or polar coordinates, the original base point remains the base point for the entirety of the command. So let's say I want to copy this line to the right, two units. And then again, another two units. I'm going to get the copy command, select my line, and press return. I'll pick my base point and now I'll type in "@2 angle 0" and press return. Now I need my next object, two units, again. However, if I were to type in "@2 angle 0" again, I…
