Checking coordinate systems

- [Instructor] Even though model space is nearly infinite, it is very orderly. It uses a Cartesian coordinate system to manage the space using x and y-axes and a z-axis for 3D objects. The orientation of this is as we see on the screen with x in the horizontal direction, starting at zero on the left, and the values increasing positively in the right direction. And the y-axis in the vertical orientation with zero at the bottom and moving positively as we move to the top of your screen. This is called the world coordinate system. We can however substitute our own coordinate system over the top of this world system if we like, effectively rotating the coordinates around one or more of the axes. Perhaps part of your project is on a 30-degree bend, and you want to be able to easily draft orthographically in that leg of your building. If I pan over we can see I have a basic building here, and I want to make my new coordinate system…
