Auditing a drawing

- [Instructor] Occasionally if AutoCAD does crash, the file that you have open may actually be corrupted. Now if AutoCAD crashed because of an error already existing in the file, or if the act of crashing actually causes the error in the drawing is kind of hard to say, but whatever the case, there are times when an error or multiple errors can appear in your drawing. It may even occur when emailing or downloading the file itself. To help repair your drawing, we can use the audit tool which we can access simply by typing in audit and pressing return. This will run an audit on the open file. AutoCAD asks if you want to repair any errors, which we can respond with a simple Y and press Return. Of course, this only works or really helps if you can actually open the DWG file itself to start with. If you cannot, if AutoCAD comes up and says that it cannot open the file at all, we can try and use recovery. Simply type recover in…
