Annotation scaling

- [Instructor] I want to talk for a moment about annotation scaling. Annotation scaling for text and dimensions was added a few years ago. And it's a very interesting feature. It allows you to place text and dimensions in model space. You'll assign a paper space printed size and then a specific scale that you want to view the objects through. This way you can control the size on the final printed page of that text. And AutoCAD will do all the math for you as far as scaling and so forth. It's a wonderful concept and there are situations where you really must place your dimensions and text in model space. In this particular example, I have the same dimension seen here in two different viewports but, on the printed page they're going to come out the same size.
