Join Jim LaPier for an in-depth discussion in this video Annotation scaling, part of AutoCAD for Mac 2015 Essential Training.
- I wanna talk for a moment…about annotation scaling.…Annotation scaling for text and dimensions…was added a few years ago,…and it's an interesting feature.…Annotation scaling allows you to place…text and dimensions in model space.…Assign a paper space size and then a scale.…This way you can control the size…of the final printed text on the page…and let AutoCAD figure out the math for you.…It's a wonderful concept,…and there are situations where you must…place dimensions or text in model space.…
You can set the size you want for the font to print at,…add the necessary scales you want in the text…to print in the properties,…and then the text will only print…in view port scale to that size.…The issue comes in when you add scale sizes…to the text. You must add it…to every piece of text so it prints…in the new view port at the new scale.…Also, for each scale you must make sure…that the text is positioned properly,…as the size of the text itself…will change to reflect the scale…it needs to be printed at.…
If I make my scale smaller,…
