Adding valves - AutoCAD MEP Tutorial
From the course: AutoCAD MEP Essential Training
Adding valves
Let's go back and look at some pipe. We could use some valve. Luckily there are tons of valves to choose from. Another good thing is, AutoCAD will prompt you if you run into a situation where a flange or reducer is needed. This video will focus on adding different valves to our piping. We'll add a globe valve and we'll add a ball valve. And of course, go back and examine their properties once they're placed into the drawing. So, to get started, let's jump to our MEP-Mechanical drawing. Let's change our display configuration to MEP Design. Let's roll in on a mechanical room. Let's go to our Tool palette and the Accessories tab, let's grab a gate valve. I happen to know that our pipe is an inch and a quarter. So let's find our inch and a quarter type in this dialog here. I'm going to scroll down til I find inch and a quarter and I'm going to select it. Then I'm just going to pan around in my window a little bit. I'm going to go ahead and find a spot on my pipe to put it. Again notice…
