Writing and inserting blocks to and from files

- In this video, I'll discuss some of the issues you'll face when working with blocks and files. Open the Dynamic11 exercise file, and then type W, which stands for WBlock. WBlock is itself an abbreviation of the words "Write Block," and that's programmer lingo for "write the block definition to a file on disk." You can do this in different ways. You could select Objects, and if you write those to disk, it will essentially create a block definition out of the objects. However, they won't be dynamic. You could also write the entire drawing and make it a block definition, although there's really no reason to do that. What we want to do, because we've designed this fantastic dynamic block, we wanna write that to a file. And when I choose this top radio button, I then have access to this dropdown menu. It lists all of the block definitions in this drawing, in Dynamic11. Choose Desk set, and then down here, you can specify a path for your file. I'll click over here to display the Standard…
