- [Instructor] So what should you know before you start your AutoCAD LT Essential Training Course? Well, really you should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows. You should know how to drive a mouse, and how to use a keyboard, how to use Windows dialog boxes, and so on in the Microsoft Windows operating system. That's because AutoCAD LT works in that Windows environment. So, if you know how to drive all of that, you've conquered pretty much half of the journey already, because then you're using a product that works within the Windows environment. Now, if you've never used AutoCAD LT before, don't be daunted by all those icons you can see there in the ribbon at the top of the screen. We'll get you through many of those as you work through this particular course. And, AutoCAD LT is not a difficult product to use whatsoever, and you'll see that as you work through the videos in this particular course. Now, the other thing you do need to know is that AutoCAD LT uses a DWG native file format. And that's similar to Microsoft Word using the doc format, the d-o-c format. And you can see that we've got a DWG open in AutoCAD LT at the moment. It's called Introduction to DWG, and you can see the name of the file in the title bar at the top of the screen there as well, like most other Microsoft Windows products do. Now, you'll also notice as well, that in this particular course we're using Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2019. That's the latest version of the AutoCAD LT software. Now, that doesn't mean to say that you can't use an older version of AutoCAD LT to do this course. It's just that some of the icons and some of the dialog boxes might just look a little bit different. That's all. So you can use an older version AutoCAD if you want to to follow along with this AutoCAD LT Essential Training course. That pretty much covers what you should know. What we'll look at as well is the exercise files and how to utilize them when you're working with this Essential Training course too.
