Splines in AutoCAD LT are used to make complex curves, and come in handy for all sorts of tasks. In the program, you use grip points along the curve to sculpt, shape, and edit the curve until it's accurate. This online video shows you two methods of creating complex curves with splines, so you can successfully design objects and models with a lot of curvature. After viewing, you will be ready to practice tracing an image with complex curves.
…Splines are used to create complex curves.…In this video you will use two different methods to shape splines.…Open the map sample file from the chapter four folder.…Here you'll find a map of Maui, Hawaii.…It's attached as an image file.…If you zoom in, you'll see the jpeg compression artifacts here.…Our task is to trace some of the outline of the island with splines.…This way we could create a vector representation of…the island for use as a project site plan.…
Say the project is located at this dot, and we'd like to show the…outline of the island to give the viewer of the drawing a sense of context.…I'm going to zoom in here on this area…right here where we have a lot of curvature.…And let's try drawing our first spline.…Click the draw slide out and you'll see two spline tools located right here.…Spline fit.…And spline CV.…CV stands for control vertex.…Let's start with the fit method first.…Click this button, and it says specify first point.…
I'm just going to click a point somewhere along this path.…Don't worry if you dont' find the exact same place on the island's coast.…
