In this video, Shaun Bryant explains how to set the current drafting layer in AutoCAD LT.
- Once again, we're staying in our UsingLayers.dwg file…where in the previous video we changed…the type of layer using the grids…and setting the properties and so on.…What we're gonna look at now is actually…making a layer the current drafting layer.…Now I have covered this a little bit already,…but there are some neat little tricks here…that you can utilize that will actually allow you…to make a layer current and you don't even know…the name of the layer that you're making current.…
Now that's useful, because you might have…inherited a drawing from somebody…and you don't know all the layer names in the drawing…without going and looking them all up.…So, the normal way is if you know…the name of the layer you want to use,…you would normally go and find it here…in the layer dropdown in the last panel.…So I might want to do some internal walls,…there's the I-WALL layer there.…So that then makes the I-WALL layer…the current drafting layer.…Or I can go to layer properties,…into the layer properties manager,…and I want to perhaps put some furniture into the drawing.…
