Saving a workspace
Now that we've seen how to access AutoCAD's tools and pallets, you may be wondering if it's possible to customize the arrangement of these items on screen. The answer is, yes, you can. In this lesson we'll explore the concept of a workspace. Now, a workspace is nothing more than a saved collection of tools on screen. Take a look at the top of the interface, currently we are using a workspace called Drafting and Annotation. This is the default workspace that is traditionally used for 2D drafting. If I click to open this menu, we see several other workspaces that come installed with AutoCAD. To flip to another workspace, I'm going to select from the menu. I'll choose 3D Basics, for example. And when I do, you can see the ribbon is now populated with basic 3D tools. Once again, I'll open the workspace and I'll choose 3D Modeling this time.
