Saving and restoring views

- Views are like bookmarks in space. In this video you will save and restore views of key places in a drawing. Open the mechanical sample file from the Chapter 03 folder and zoom in here on the top drawing. I'd like to save this as a view so that I can jump back here to the top view more efficiently. I'll type v enter for view and then click new. I'll give the name top and I'll just leave everything with the default options. It's a still view, it's the current display. I can optionally save a layer snapshot with this view and we'll just go ahead and click okay. Okay again to close the view manager. Now I'd like to zoom extents. And I'll do that by double clicking the zoom wheel, and then I'll go ahead and pan by dragging the zoom wheel and zoom in down here on the front view. Maybe I'll zoom in a little more and I want to be more accurate about that so I'm going to type z enter, for zoom. And I will specify a zoom window by clicking its upper left corner and lower right corners like…
