Saving and restoring layer states

Layer states record the status of all of the layers in the drawing. In this video, you will create layer states to recall specific types of plans. Open the Architectural6 sample file in the Chapter 11 folder. I've added some additional information to this project, namely the drawing headers, these lines which represent the portion of the wall that exists above the door opening, and some lighting fixtures on a lighting layer. We wouldn't want to show the headers and the lighting on the floor plan. Traditionally, we would show that on a separate plan called a reflected ceiling plan, which is a view looking up at the ceiling. But we can create that all within the same file using layer states. So first, let's turn off the lighting layer and the header layer. Next, we will save this as a layer state called Floor Plan. So open the layer slide out, and open this drop down for Layer State.
