Rotating and scaling

In this video, I'll discuss the rotate and scale commands. Open the architectural sample file. And zoom in here into this room by the fireplace. Let's begin by rotating this chair. Click the rotate tool here on the modifiy panel. You have a select objects prompt. Select the chair, and press Enter to exit out of select objects mode. Now the command prompt says specify a base point. Click a point more or less in the middle of the chair. Now you can see what's happening. As I move the cursor, the chair is rotating about the base point. I'll click a point down here to set the rotation angle graphically, and the command is done. Let's pan down here into this living room space. This time I'd like to rotate the chair here using a set number of degrees. Click Rotate, select the chair. Press Enter. Specify the base point, more or less here in the middle of the chair. And we'll type in 30, for 30 degrees. And press Enter. So it's just that simple.
