Hiding and isolating objects

- In this video, we will hide and isolate objects. This is a system for controlling object visibility that's independent of layers. Open the Architectural.dwg sample file from the chapter 11 folder, and you'll find that this file contains but a single layer, layer 0. Nevertheless, we are able to hide, or isolate, specific objects. So, for example, let's say I want to hide the bathroom fixtures so I'm not looking at them. I'll zoom in there. Go down here to the status bar. Click on this particular icon, right here. It has two operations, hide or isolate. Let's start with hide. I'll hide these objects. I'll make a window selection around the sink, and a crossing selection around part of the tub and press enter. It disappeared. I can repeat the command by pressing enter or by typing hide objects on the command line. And I can hide the rest. Enter. It's just that simple, they're gone. Now, if you didn't know about this system, you could really be perplexed about where these objects went…
