Freezing viewport layers
- In this video you will see how you can freeze particular layers in specific viewports. Open the Architectural4 sample file in the Chapter 15 folder. Let's go ahead and open up the layers drop down and toggle on layer Z viewport. And also set that layer current by clicking on the name Z viewport. Let's make a new viewport over here on the side. Type mv for make viewport. And then create a viewport over here by drawing a rectangle. Double click inside the viewport to activate it and then zoom in on this spiral stair here. Now let's choose a graphic scale for this down here in the viewport menu. Let's try one inch equals one foot. It zoomed out a little bit and that looks about the right size for this sheet of paper. So I'm going to double click outside the viewport and let's go ahead and lock that viewport while we're at it. I will select it, right click, and choose display locked, yes.
