Employing object-snap tracking
- Object Snap Tracking is like having temporary construction geometry, that erases itself after you're done laying out a drawing. In this video you will track points and snap to them. Open the mechanical sample file in the Chapter 06 folder. Then turn on Object Snap Tracking down here on the status bar. It's adjacent to Object Snap. Let's also have ortho On. Then go ahead and click the line tool. Move the curser over here to acquire a tracking point. The snap could say quadrant, end point, or intersection, but all three at this location are coincident so it doesn't matter which one appears. However, be careful not to click because we don't want to start drawing at this point. All we want to do is acquire the object's snap tracking line which appears when you move the cursor to the left. If it doesn't appear, go back, and try to reacquire it. Each time I do that, I either get it or I don't. I'll reacquire it now. This dashed, green line works just like it does in polar tracking. It…
