Drawing callout block geometry
From the course: AutoCAD: Creating Sheet Sets
Drawing callout block geometry
- Our next task is to design a Callout Block, which can be used for details, elevations, and section drawings. And this can be used throughout the sheet set. We'll begin by drawing the geometry for this particular Callout Block, and then later we'll add attributes to it, and dynamic block functionality. To begin with, draw a circle. Specify its diameter as .75 inches. Draw a horizontal line through the middle, from quadrant to quadrant. As it stands, this type of Callout would be suitable for details. You can put the drawing number here, and the sheet number down here. Elevations and sections typically are identified with arrow heads. The elevation arrow head is smaller, and the section arrow head is bigger. You'll see this as we proceed. But first we have to draw in the geometry itself using basic drafting skills. I'll draw a line from the midpoint up, vertically, and then another line across here. And another one like that. Then move this line from this midpoint to this…
