Dividing and measuring

In this video we'll explore the divide and measure commands. Both of them output point objects which can be snapped to. And you can use these commands to help you lay out objects. So open the architectural sample file in the chapter five folder. And let's say that we wanted to add some stools to this kitchen island,. Let's copy one of the chairs from outside on the patio into the kitchen. Put copy, select this chair, enter, and click a base point and a second point. Then zoom in there into the kitchen. And now I'd like to have maybe three chairs here that are all equally spaced on this counter. We can use divide to help us determine how to do that. Type "DIV" for divide and press enter. It says select object to divide. That would be this edge. Enter the number of segments, let's try four. I pressed enter and now the command is done and seemingly nothing has happened but actually the divide command has created three point objects. You can just see them right here, here and here…
