Designing a dynamic block
From the course: AutoCAD 2015 Essential Training
Designing a dynamic block
In this video we will design a dynamic block. Open the architectural five sample file in the chapter 12 folder. Zoom into this door. Select the door rectangle and the arc. And change the layer to layer zero. Also change the object properties to be bilayer. For each of the three primary properties here. Color, line weight, and line type. Now let's define that as a block. Type b enter for block. Let's call this door. Specify a base point by picking. The hinge right there. Choose convert to block. And check open in block editor. This will allow us to add parameters and actions that make this a dynamic block. Click OK. We go into the block editor environment here. And we have the block authoring pallets which will allow us to add parameters and actions. If you don't see them, you can toggle them on right here. The first thing I want to do is add a Flip Parameter. This will allow us to flip the door over. Once we're dealing with the block reference, so right now we're in the block…
