Defining a parameter referenced by dimensional constraints
- Type BEDIT enter, select the constraint block, and open it in the editor. We have a bit of complexity here with a series of geometric and dimensional constraints. The dimensional constraints are just reading the true values. This is a thousand units wide and 400 units high. Suppose we want the rectangle to always maintain the same area not matter what. We want to still have the ability to change the aspect ratio of the rectangle. We can do that by defining a parameter, and you can do that in the Parameters Manager. Toggle this on, and you'll see a listing of the dimensional constraints. You can add your own parameter by clicking this button, and let's give it the name AREA. Right now the area of this rectangle is simply d1 times d2. That's 400000 units. This number here is just something I typed in. It's really not related to these at all, yet. It's just a name and a number at this point. Now, I can come over here, double-click on this parameter to highlight the text, and now I'm…
