- In this video, we will begin a drawing project that will put a lot of the things you've learned in this course so far to use. Open the floor plan sample file in the chapter six folder and you'll see that it's blank. I've already set the units to architectural, and I created a layer, which we'll get to later. Let's go ahead and attach an image of a sketch I made on a piece of paper. Type "IM" for IMAGE and press enter. This opens the external references palette. Up here. open this menu, rather than clicking on the icon, click on the arrow. And then choose Attach Image and select this jpg. Click Open, and then set Relative path, and un-check these three boxes so that the images attached at the origin point with a scale of 1.00 and with a rotation angle of 0.0. So I made this rough sketch of a simple architectural plan. I took a picture of it with my phone and emailed it to myself.
