Accessing specialized layer tools
In this video, we will explore some of the specialized Layer tools available here on the Layers panel. Open the Architectural5 sample file from the chapter 11 folder. The way that these icons are organized are in pairs above and below. So, for example, in this pair we have Off and Turn All Layers On. Click Off and then select an object, such as one of these dimension objects. All of the dimensions disappear. If I click one of the doors then all the doors disappear. This is really a useful command because in a complex drawing you don't often know all the layer names. There might be hundreds of different layers. And so, if you want to get rid of some of the things on the screen so you can work on something, you can just click Layer Off, and then click a few things and get rid of them. All that's really doing is it's going up here and toggling off specific layers. So, we could do that manually, but this is a good way to save a bit of time.
