Understanding pressure parts

- [Instructor] In chapter 10, we looked at Apart Networks, and in this chapter, chapter 11, we're going to look at Pressure Part Networks. Well what's the differences? The main difference, of course, is the parts themselves. The parts that we use, of course, with the standard part network is most focused on gravity design. So, you're going to have your structures which are usually clean outs, man holes, of some sort, whereas with pressure pipe network system you're not going to have man holes but rather you're going to have fittings such as a T or an elbow. You're also going to have an additional type of part called an appurtenance, such as a gate valve. And all of this we're going to of course design in plan view and just like we do with profile view with our standard pipe network, we'll work with designing in profile view. But designing a pipe network is a little bit more intense because we can actually add parts that are simply focused on handling the vertical design. Here, we have…
