Share data shortcuts

- [Instructor] Now that the data shortcuts have been created, we can start a new drawing and bring those elements into the drawing. So let's first bring our surface in. I'm going to right click on the surface, and say create reference. And if we want to change the name of it we can here. If I wanted to now call this existing ground and then use two and 10 foot background, that works for me. We can even change the layer it goes on. And none of these settings here are going to affect the original information. This is just going to be working off of a copy. So say okay and zoom extents. There's our surface. Now let's do the same thing for the alignment. Right click on the name, create reference. Make any changes you need to make. Turn no labels on this time. Click okay. And there it is. Those are the steps to manage and share data in Civil 3D.
