The Inquiry Tool
- [Instructor] One additional palette that would make three palettes that are specific to Civil 3D is the inquiry tool palette. We can find that from the analyze ribbon on the inquiry panel, you have the inquiry tool. The inquiry tool provides us the ability to inquiry or query a Civil 3D object and get information visually without providing labels or anything else. It simply provides the information on the palette. So let's go to the surface and choose surface elevation and grade at point, it says provide the surface. I'm going to graphically select the surface. And it asks for surface again, I'm simply going to say OK. And now it's saying specify point, we'll just pick any point here. And notice it reads the information out and visually shows the direction of the grade. So the grade at this location is going this direction at 4.92, the elevation is 254.41. So we can continue picking this and it will continue to provide that information to us, as long as we have that command active…
