Editing fittings using grips
- [Instructor] Civil 3D provides some really handy grips for editing fittings. Let's see how they work. Going to zoom in to this area at the top left corner of this building, and we'll start by taking a look at this elbow fitting right here. When I click on the fitting, you'll see that there are three types of grips, at the moment. There's a square grip, some arrow grips, and some diamond shaped grips. The square grip, when I click on it, allows me to move that fitting in any direction, and doesn't restrict my movement in any way. And you'll also see that when I move it, any pipes connected to it move as well. I'm going to undo that change, 'cause I actually want to show you how the diamond shaped grips look. If I click a diamond shaped grip, it holds its alignment with the pipe closest to that diamond shape, and moves me along that direction. So, for example, I notice that this pipe isn't very parallel to the curb, and I'd like it to be that way. So I can use the diamond shaped grip…
