Design and create a corridor

- [Instructor] There are three components that we need before creating a corridor. The first is an alignment, the second is a surface profile or a design profile, and thirdly, an assembly, so let's add an assembly to this drawing. If we go to the Home tab on the ribbon and choose Tool Palettes, you'll see our list of sub-assemblies or complete assemblies. Let's choose our first one, called a basic assembly, and let's place that in our model. I'll click Escape to stop placing assemblies and zoom in. Here you will see the difference sub-assemblies that make up this complete assembly: a roadway, a curb, sidewalk with boulevards, and daylight. When Civil 3D asks us to select an assembly, remember to select this marker, not one of the sub-assemblies. The next step is to create our corridor and choose all of these elements. Let's create the corridor. On the Home tab, Create Design panel, I'll click Corridor. We can give our corridor a name. In this case, we're using an alignment and profile…
