- [Narrator] Now for the finishing touches to your template file, the view ports. You have to use a certain type of view port for the plan production tools to work. Understanding the view port types is the most important because without setting them up properly, the plan production tools won't work. Okay, so let's create our view ports. On the layout tools tab, we're going to go to named to create two view ports. This layout is for your plan and profile sheet so you need two view ports, one for plan and one for profile. I'm going to select named and then I go to the new view ports tab and I choose two horizontal view ports. I'm going to set the view port spacing to .15. I go OK and now I need to create a rectangle and the software will create two view ports in that rectangle. So, I'll start up here at the top, move down here to the bottom, now I've created two view ports. The next thing to do is set the view port type.
