- [Narrator] For long linear designs like a road or pipeline. You often have to use multiple sheets to document the entire design. Civil 3D has tools that automate this process. Lets take a look at viewframes. The first step in this process. So lets say we want to document the design of this road. In as many sheets as it takes to do so. To get started doing that we click the output tab. And you'll see the plan production tools over here on the left. Viewframes. Sheets and section sheets. So the first tool we use is the one on the far left which is create viewframes. And what this will do is it will analyze the alignment. And decide based on the sheet size that we select how many sheets it needs to break that into. To have enough overlap to contain a match line as well.
