Annotate a surface

- [Instructor] As with nearly everything in Civil 3D, the graphics only tell part of the story. We need to add text and numbers to convey more information. Let's see how that's done with surfaces. If you look at the top right view port, we see the end of this magenta poly line, which represents where our proposed road center line intersects with the existing road. This might be a spot where we really want to see the elevation that the two intersect. So to do that, I'll select the surface and then go up to the add labels dropdown and pick add surface labels. Notice that it automatically chose surface as the feature, and the first type of label I want to create is a spot elevation. I'll check my styles and make sure they're correct, and then I'll click add. Now there's only one surface in this drawing. Otherwise, Civil 3D would have prompted me to select which surface I want to base my labels on. I'll launch my endpoint…
