Adding pipes and fittings in profile
- [Narrator] With Civil 3D you can actually add pipes, fittings and appurtenances in profile view, something you can't do with gravity pipes. Let's see how it works. Here, I've got a situation where a water line is crossing through a storm pipe, and that's something we obviously can't have. And if we look at this in plan view you'll see where this is taking place. Here's a water line crossing the storm pipe. And we would want those pipes to cross each other with enough clearance that they don't intersect with each other. So, we need to fix this issue, and it's easier to modify the pressure pipe, the water line in this case, because we can bend that in any really direction we want. Gravity doesn't matter. But if we were to try to move this storm pipe then we may have issues with gravity flow from one end of the system to the other. So, when you run into this type of conflict you're going to, nine times out of 10, change the path of the water line. So, how can we do this? Well, to get…
