Adding labels in plan view
- [Instructor] As with all designs, labeling is an important way that your design intent is conveyed to the people who review and ultimately build your designs. Let's take a look at how labeling is done for pressure pipes. As you can see we've got some pressure pipes and fittings and even an appurtenance up here near the building. And we want to provide some labels for those objects in Plan View. Now there are a couple of ways to get started. The way that I prefer to start any labeling, is to go the Annotate tab and just launch the generic Add Labels command. This gives me the most control over the outcome. Some people will go to the Add Labels dropdown and select the system that they are about to label and choose a command from one of the options in the menu. You're certainly free to do that. But what I don't like about that is that the styles are baked in, so I don't have control of which style I'm applying at the time I'm creating the label. So again, that's why I like to use this…
