Using filters and EQ effects

- [Instructor] Another essential part of audio mixing, for me, is using filter and EQ effects. While we use amplitude and compression to raise or lower the overall frequencies of the audio, EQ let's us target specific frequencies, and make them more or less prominent. So I'd like to add an EQ effect to this track here. So I'm going to go over to my effects rack. Make sure I'm on track effects. And then in this first slot, I'm going to click the fly out menu. And go down to filter and EQ. And we use the word filter because we're filtering out different frequencies. The EQ effect that I use the most is the Parametric Equalizer. And whenever I add this effect, I always like to go up to my presets and make sure I chose Full Reset, so I know I'm working from scratch. Here we have a graph which shows us frequency running horizontally from low frequencies to high frequencies. And then we have amplitude adjustment on the Y axis.
