- [Voiceover] We now have our time-line all set up for the hand-off to the audio post production house or audio post editor. Let's talk about the best file formats we can use and how to export them properly. The first thing you need to find out is what the post house or audio editor needs. If they're using pro tools they'll most likely want an AAF file. If they're using Logic or Nuendo they'll most likely want an OMF file. The differences between these file types are pretty negligible. One stands for Advanced Authoring Format and one stands for Open Media Framework. Both are file wrappers that allow the audio edits volume and pan automation and other sequence settings to follow the audio media as it's migrated to a digital audio work station. Basically it allows them to open up this sequence in their work station and still see these edits and these clip volume changes. And so forth. If you're not sure what file type is needed just make sure you ask your audio person what they'll want.…
