Adjusting clip amplitude

- [Narrator] To adjust the amplitude of a file in the wave for editor, we have this floating panel here which is also known as the HUD or heads up display. If I click and drag left or right over any of these controls you can see I'm able to turn the file up or turn it down. I can actually see this change in the wave form. I can also see how much I'm adjusting the level in decibels next to the slider. Now once I release my mouse, the level change is made to the file and you'll notice that the HUD has gone back to zero decibels. This is because it only ever shows you the current volume adjustment. It doesn't keep track of every change you make as you go. If I click and drag this to the right, I can go as high as 15DB, but I can go even higher than this just by typing in the value that I want. Of course you don't want your wave form to look like this where the pics are going over 0DB on this scale here, because this is actually clipping my audio and will sound distorted. While I still…
