- Here is an important question for you. On your next shoot, where are you recording your sound? I mean, into what device? You may be assuming that you'll record the sound on a camera, but that might not be the best option. In this movie, we'll take a look at some other options. Sometimes on a shoot it makes sense to use an audio recorder to record the audio. So why bother with a separate sound recorder? Why not run the audio right into the camera? It's a good question. The answer, unsurprisingly, is that it depends. It's safe to say that if you're the only person running the shoot and, therefore, also running the camera, you can't easily run a separate sound recorder. It's possible, but it's another layer of stuff to worry about. So if you're alone, I'd suggest you run the audio signal, presumably from an external microphone, right into the camera.
