- [Jared] And now for the art of strumming. Now, there's a lot of things that you can do with right-hand strumming, different rhythms that you can play. And it's very important to establish a really good feel of time with your right hand as you're strumming. So some things I suggest are just to keep your wrist really loose while you're holding on the pick really tightly. Also, practice with a metronome, and even, if you can, try tapping your foot and keeping locked in with your time of your foot. So we've done mostly quarter notes and whole notes, but let's move to some new time durations here. So just look at how they are now in slash notation. A whole note. It looks like a whole note, but this time it's kind of more a diamond sort of shape. And then we have a half note, which looks kind of like a diamond with a stem. Then you also have a quarter note, which we've already been working on. And now, we're gonna go into eighth notes, which just are beamed. All right, so now let's work…
