- [Instructor] Yet another issue that songwriters run into as far as the craft of songwriting is that we tend to get stuck trying to find the perfect line. Just remember thinking back on my early songwriting efforts, I agonized over making sure each line was exactly right before I let myself move on. One of the problems with this is that it tends to bog down the entire writing process and makes it a lot less joyful. So, one of the solutions that I would recommend is to be careful to avoid editing too harshly while you're writing. In other words, don't spend all your time making sure you have the perfect conjunction in a line if you can just get something that's workable and then keep the process moving. This is really all about flow. It is often better to put in a good enough line and keep your songwriting momentum and then edit later.
