- [Instructor] You wouldn't shoot an arrow without lining up the bow at the target, would you? Similarly, I suggest you don't go randomly sending out submission emails to tons of people. Instead, target exactly who you want to listen to your music and why. Here are some questions to ask yourself. Are there specific shows you think your music would work really well on? Are there certain types of film trailers your music is great for? Is there a brand you think your music is perfectly suited for? Each of these objectives may have totally different needs for music and you want to cater your approach differently to each music supervisor. If you're going to submit music on your own, what I suggest to artists is to do your homework and research. First, where your songs are best suited, which TV show or film, or the best brand, and which genre and which projects or brands within that genre?
