Working alone or as a team?

- [Instructor] Are you looking to submit your music to music supervisors yourself, or do you feel like you want the assistance of a company? If you want to go it alone, my advice has always been to move to Los Angeles to start networking with music supervisors. However, I know that's not realistic for the vast majority of people. And if you can't move, then you can do other things like attending music conferences, such as SyncSummit and the annual TAXI convention. And looking to signing up with music organizations, like NARIP, National Association of Record Industry Professionals. I've been to all of those before, and I'm a member of NARIP, and I've struck up new relationships with artists. And some of these conferences even offer listening sessions where an hour or more is set aside for artists and writers to play their music for a panel of music executives. I've been on the listening side of these before, and I can tell you that those can, in fact, lead to placements for the artists…
