From the course: Rock Guitar Lessons: Teach Yourself to Play

Which guitar is best for me?

(guitar music) - In picking out an electric guitar, you definitely want to go to a music store and if you don't play guitar yet, ask somebody to play one for you so that you can hear the sound of it. And, of course, you're going to listen to, not only the tone, but also the look of it, and the feel. You want to hold it in your hand and, ideally, bond with it. From my own personal preference, I like guitars that have personality to them. As you can see, this guitar, built by luthier, Michael Spalt, is one-of-a-kind and it is very different and has a lot of personality that means something to me. When you play a guitar, you definitely want to get into the spirit of that instrument and figure that that's going to be an instrument that you can play for a long time. So it's important to make a worthy investment before you choose your instrument.
