Learn the fundamentals of bluegrass, classical, and Brazilian mandolin. Learn basics such as holding and tuning a mandolin, positioning your hands and fingers, and playing simple chords.
(lively music) - Hello, I'm Mike Marshall, and welcome to my bluegrass mandolin course. This is course number one, and we're looking at fundamentals. I really try to march you through the basics of how to hold the instrument, good posture, good right and left hand technique, the basics of how to strike the string with the right hand, some nice little finger exercises for you.
And then we move into some simple chords, strumming chords in rhythm, two finger first position chords, and then some basic melodies. So I hope you enjoy the course, and good luck with your mandolin playing.
