Verbos Scan and Pan: Overview

Verbos Scan and Pan: Overview

(synthesizer tones) - [Instructor] More and more stereo mixers are appearing in modular synthesizers. This example is called the verbose scan and pan because it has a couple primary functions. One, it is a four input mixer with panning on each channel, including voltage control of the pan, as well as voltage control of the level for each channel. The scan part of it, is it uses verbose particular technique for choosing the width and the center point for grouping a number of adjacent channels so you can scan through a number of inputs. In this movie, we'll go over the basics of using the scan and pan as a stereo mixer. In the next movie, we'll show you how to voltage control the panning and then, in the third movie, we'll explore that scanning portion. Now for a stereo mixer, it's pretty small. It's only 14 hp wide and 30 millimeters deep, including the power header, it's not deep at all, and it requires relatively low power, particularly subbing with LEDs. Just 50 milliamps on the…
