One area where artists and bands get into trouble is not paying enough attention to merch ordering process. Since one of the goals of selling merch is to make money, this process can mean the difference between being profitable or not. Here's what to be aware of. Keep the choices low. Artists and bands often make the mistake of offering too many choices. There's an old salesman's adage that says that you should never offer a customer more than two choices. Any more and he may throw up his hands and say, I can't decide and not purchase anything. It's best to keep the choices to two at first until you see how something sells. Start with the low-priced one, and a higher-priced one, like a sticker and a T-shirt. Only offer a product in one of two ways, two T-shirt designs or colors, or two sizes, for instance.
