Step out of your comfort zone
From the course: One Minute Motivational Tips for Songwriters
Step out of your comfort zone
- [Narrator] If you find yourself in a bit of a songwriting rut, one of the things that can be really helpful is being willing to step outside of your comfort zone. In other words, take a new approach to songwriting. Maybe you always start by writing your lyric and then putting music to it. Force yourself to do something different. It goes along with another one of my very favorite expressions which is "if you want something you've never had, "do something you've never done." By stepping outside of your comfort zone by doing something you've never done with your songwriting, you may end up with a new style of writing or a new approach that dramatically improves your songs. You'll never know until you find out. So step out of that comfort zone, do something new, and look forward to some great results.
