Shelton roll 3: Ending lick

Shelton roll 3: Ending lick

- Just as I've been sitting here, I came up with a use for the Shelton roll in an ending situation. This is kind of the Shave and a Haircut with a diminished minor third Shelton roll. Sounds like this. (bouncy banjo music) So I'm starting up here with G, (strings pluck) between the 15th and 17th frets. (strings plucking slower) And then I arpeggiate that. (strings plucking longer) Move it down three frets on minor third. Of course, bring that index across to the first string. Forward roll. (strings pluck deeply) Another three frets down. (strings pluck more deeply) Another three frets down. (strings pluck even more deeply) (slow arpeggio) And with my pinky staying where it is for a moment and letting go with the other fingers, I slide eight to nine on the first string. Let's see. (strings pluck faster) So, a big slide-up on the pinky. (song ending with flourish) So, one more time. (energetic banjo music) And one more time, slowed down. (slow banjo music) You'll be a hit at parties…
